This poor blog hasn't gotten love from me in almost a year. I just wanted to let you know I'm still alive.

Testing Wan Two Tree
I just found out I had a flickr pro account (UNLIMITED STORAGE, HELLO) this whole time via my AT&T DSL account (Woot!). Testing flickr/blogger integration 1.. 2.. 3... I feel so savvy.

Freezing in Scottsdale, Arizona
It's currently 1:08am MST in Arizona.
After my hour flight (breeezy, but not at 7am in the mawwnnninn!), I landed in Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and was pleasant to see the Superbowl spirit alive and well in AZ. My flight was actually delayed approximately 30 minutes because the outbound air traffic was heavily backed up. Upon my arrival, it was nice to see some Superbowl banners and knowing that the Underdog Giants were "Who wanted it more!?". Lots of Patriots fans amongst the airport crowd, probably those horrible faces they had on their face, was not because of the early morning crap weather the Arizona greeted me with.
I wasn't expecting this gloomy weather, since we just had about a week's worth of rain out in Cali. I guess I brought the gloom with me :), but there were nice reminders to show where I left my heart :)
After a long day it was nice to see the skies clear way for some nice shiny, blue happiness everyone in the office was complaining for. (Fun Fact: The building we currently are working in used to be the original spot where Coldstone Ice Cream was!)

I can't say I'm a huge basketball fan or anything, but I did find the game enjoyable. Damn and Grant Hill looks like he never aged a day in his life - while I was pleasantly surprised to see Steve Nash cut off his ugly mullet. It's been a while since I've caught a basketball game. My favorite thing was actually the timeout games and sponsorship spots. Favorite being the Subway Sandwich Drop: where Subway sandwiches came flying all around the stadium and into the audience via parachute.

Happy Humping!
I love that it's midweek and to boot, there's rain in the air.
Musaks
Currently, listening to WeFunk radio at work. Sometimes this station gets me all funked out, but its a nice change of pace after listening to Cerritos All-stars all day. I seriously need to bring some of my music to work. There's something about it that helps you get through the day.
Snap-Crackle-Pop
I've been eating at my desk everyday and reading MSNBC to update myself of the latest. Since I rarely watch TV, this is the only time I get my news input. It was a sad day of news: Britney Spears and her crazy custody battles, Amy Winehouse and her crack-whore ways, and Heath Ledger and all the death speculations.
Shortee B. Shawpin
This weekend was a nice long weekend which included whole lot of nothing to blog about. I did get to catch Cloverfield this weekend, it was great! I loved the whole concept of the movie. It had great suspense and realness about it. It's been awhile since I've seen a good movie: Movie Rating: 8 This weekend I did get a bit of personal shopping in. It's been awhile and I felt it fitting to treat myself out for some nice goodies. Something I call Girl Therapy. Check out my favorite buy:

What it is: Dior's cult-fave, super volumizing, lengthening, and curling mascara.
What it is formulated to do: Creates the longest, thickest, curviest lashes ever, resulting in an ultra-glam "just-off-the-catwalk" look.
EXCITING! That's what I LOVE about Sephora - you get to test everything before you take it home. I am not a make-up whore by any means. Seriously, one time my friend Nicole and I were left in the cosmetics aisle in Nordstrom and we had no idea what to do, or even look at. It was through the help of my friends Dana and Char that I found my inner girl. I mean I didn't even wear fake eyelashes until recently. So this mascara is ground breaking for me :)
Better watch out now!

$1,170 and 5 days ain't worth my soul.
I'm on my second week of work here (SheKnows / Gorilla Nation Media ) (I do miss HIN though!) and so far, so good. I really couldn't stand the 1.5 hour morning commute, so I opted for a 10-7 schedule to test out.
Today I got here in 50 minutes - not bad since it takes me 40 minutes without any traffic to get here. I really wanted to hold onto my 8-5 work schedule until I read this article, states: Drivers lose 5 days a year to traffic jams. "The study estimates that drivers wasted 2.9 billion gallons of fuel while sitting in traffic. That's about 26 gallons a year per driver." My tank costs roughly $45 dollars x 26 = $1,170!! So not only would I be losing 5 days of my life, I'd also would be working to pay for wasted tanks of gas. For those that don't know, I commute from Anaheim to LA / Inglewood (40 miles each way).
Now I know what you're thinking? It was my choice to commute and that is very true. All my life everything has been too convenient. In college years, I never had to commute more than 15 minutes to get to school (Fullerton) and work (Anaheim). Last year, my commute to Irvine used to take up to 50 minutes sometimes (!!!) and that's less than half the distance I do to LA.
So far in my 2 weeks of commute, I've already got in 1 minor fender bender by a big Samoan guy in a Black Cadillac with no license and a gold tooth who accused me of reversing into him ( we were at a stoplight, sure buddy). I can't wait for other adventures that LA has to offer me. Also, I'd like you to meet my new friend SigAlert, we hang out all day via iPhone.

Pacifico's and Home of the "What?"
Dana and I met up for dinner last night since she lives less than 15 minutes from my work. We went to Pacifico's in Culver City off Culver Blvd. It's a nice Mexican Seafood restaurant, but based on the size of the crowd, there was none, we quickly found out why it wasn't poppin'. The food was ok, nothing to go crazy about, but the service was not that great. We had to chase down the waiters to take our order, refills, get boxes, and get a check. I ordered the Salmon Salsa Verde, which I also had for lunch today (Woot for saving money!) and Dana order the fajitas plate. We both shared yummy calamari with sauces galore! Food Rating: 7.5
I don't remember eating the food because we chatted it up for a while ( 3.5 hours!) It was nice to catch up on things and see a familiar face in the city on a weeknight. It was also a nice drive home too :) 40 minutes for the win!
